What happens next?
There are different issues concerning vacating your property, which are dependant on the current status of your lease.
The most common issues comprise fixed term lease break, and continuing agreement /vacating.
Fixed term
If you are currently within a fixed term agreement, i.e. your lease has not expired, and you wish to vacate the property, you will be breaking your lease. Whilst you can vacate any time you like, you will be responsible for certain costs;
- Rental until a new tenant is found
- Letting fee
- Advertising fees
- Lease preparation fee
Rent Property will do all it can to minimise your costs and find a suitable replacement tenant. Your notice must be provided in writing to our team, either by fax or letter. In order for us to assist you, you must advise us of the exact date you intend vacating.
Continuing agreement
Once your agreement has expired, you are able to provide 21 days’ notice to vacate the property at any time. Your notice must be provided in writing to our team, either by fax or letter. The 21 days will be deemed to start on the date of receipt of your notice
To terminate your lease, please download and complete the attached document, and return it to Rent Property.
